While many of you are preparing for festive season (which by the way is very confusing, it's only October!) we're sticking with the forthcoming celebration of Samhain.
The days are getting shorter, the nights longer, the leaves are turning from green to beautiful shades of red, orange and gold. As the weather cools & tribe LBW are supping pumpkin spiced latte's (except me, who will continue to drink tea), we'll be sharing awesome gigs & music to keep you warm all through the winter that those North of the wall warned us was coming.

-

This summer there was a rich swell of music that surfed in on the tides of the emerging music ocean, those bands, artists and tunes will continue to be harboured on the blog throughout fall; joined also by those great tunes released by the bands of yesteryear, who are uniting with the music scene once more, throughout the long cold of winter (Korn we're looking at you, Corey you're next).

-
For ye not afraid of a serious riff, listen here...

-

At tribe LBW while we love the winter weather, the snow, the winter ocean, long nights of stargazing under the moon; but at heart, we are creatures of the sun.
Those long warm summer nights, the blue ocean beckoning us toward her, the sound of songs being played out across the hills, countryside and beaches.
-
We couldn't resist sharing with you the festivals that you should be attending next year, the lineups promise to be more epic then ever & we couldn't not share these sneak previews with you...

January may seem a little cold for festival season to get started, but with 12 stages to keep you warm the guys behind Pilot Promotions figured Icebreaker Festival was the perfect post festive season festival to get your year off to a rocking start.
What better way to keep warm & prepare for summer season then with a whole day of awesome live music?

Festival: Icebreaker
Location: Southsea
Date: 28th Janaury

Look out for more awesome announcements throughout winter!

-

The festival of metal, of riffs and of all that rocks. We absolutely would not miss this festival. Last year everyone seemed to give the guys a lot of negativity, which we at tribe LBW feel was a little unwarranted. Yeah okay there were loads of the old bands but there was plenty of new blood too.
Besides it was an honour to see the likes of Sabbath, & Maiden.
-
But something tells us this year team DL are stepping up their game and there'll be one hell of an influx of new blood as well as the biggest names in music...
(Our money's on Metallica to headline! Corey if you work real hard on getting a new record out maybe we'll even get our favourite nine!)
Enough of procrastinating lineup's there'll be time for that in the weeks to come...
You probably want to pop back here for a little announcement we've got on 01/11.

Festival: Download Festival
Location: Castle Donnington
Date: 9-11 June

-

Here at Tribe LBW, there was one thing I wanted to do when I started my blog, it was to combine my love of nature, primarily the ocean with my love of music, primarily rock. A grassroots festival that definitely holds it's own unique character in the festival scene.
A weekend of surfing and music, is there anything sweeter in life?
This year we got to see the likes of Nahko & Medicine For The People perform and I'm telling you now when you take that healing medicine music and you factor in the surf, there's pretty much no better way to spend a weekend.

Festival: Boardmasters
Location: Cornwall
Date: 9-13 August

-

Because festivals aren't festivals without some awesome epic bands to listen to, here's our first five of the bands you seriously need to be checking out over winter and into 2017.

TRIBE LBW
EMERGING MUSIC
THE FIRST FIVE

-

Hailing from Brighton these boys are bringing about a genre of their own and their truly unique sound is something to behold.
Catch them on tour this month too...

-

A rare find and a recommendation from our buddies in KTP that we'll be forever thankful for. Rock like you've never heard and a live set that's pretty much unrivalled ACP are bloody awesome.

-

Metal, Punk inspired rock riffs from the south coast, proving that age means nothing and if you were born to rock, you were born to rock. Fresh on the emerging music scene TBTH create a rage fuelled riff heavy sound that pretty much makes them Kerrang poster boys.

-

Fantastic formulas of magic that create a tantalising sound that will capture you in it's spell.
A band that are truly proving they're a force to be reckoned with and the band you need to watch in 2017.

Check out their recent feature on LBW right here.

-

The true kings of the North, Eat Defeat are pretty much like one of those candies that once you've tasted one, it's not enough. You will forever crave the sweet sound of ED punk-rock tunes.

-

Don't say we never treat you to a little rock here at tribe LBW!
Of course there's always our favourite skate-punk. metal and punk-rock to keep you satisfied.

We hope you'll love the tunes as much as we do and that you'll support live emerging music as well as festivals big and small next season.

Pop back, tune in and turn up for more live music here at LBW shortly.

LBW // FRONTMEN WITH PIZZAZZ

LBW

-

T W E N T Y S I X T E E N

-

F R O N T M E N // W I T H // P I Z Z A Z Z

-

Aloha - Ahoy

There's something incredibly magic in the vibes & energy that is emitted from a band at a gig. When the entire room taps into that energy and becomes a part of that magic, you experience a level of nirvana like no other, it's as though for that moment in time, you are infinite.
Nothing else outside of the space exists, it's just the music and you in the universe.
The high that is created from that energy is surreal and I don't think unless you've experienced it, you could explain it all that well. I could talk about the science behind the chemical releases in the body but I don't want to take what is an incredible feeling during a gig and break it down into actions of the mind and body. Some things are best left enjoyed as pure magic.

One of the ways that these bands emit a fantastic energy is by having a frontman who embodies that energy, that atmosphere, with charisma that vibrates from the stage and continues to imprint on every person in the room.

For me, there are lots of incredible frontmen from bands I feel embody this persona; Bruce Dickinson certainly holds the sway over a crowd, Steven Tyler can certainly draw the attention of a room & Jon Bon Jovi, Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Jonathan Davis, Mustaine, Hetifeld, Cobain, Grohl and Eddie Vedder all exude (or did) a unique charisma that allows you to feed on that energy from their vocals & the bands sound.

There is one frontman who really steals the show for me and that's Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour.
Corey Taylor - Slipknot 2015
A vocalist that can tame an audience of thousands, nay, hundreds of thousands, a man who's vocal range is pure magic and who's character really emits to the crowd; there's a high to be experienced from being in the same room as Taylor, that is hard to find anywhere else.
(The phone thing... dude's kinda got a point.)
When a band can formulate that energy and produce it through their sets, you end up with performances like this...

That energy I talk about, I can't explain it, but this is kinda what it looks like...

It's not just on stage...

and even other bands agree...
(can you even imagine being on that stage..it's just almost too much)

and actually while we're on the subject that energy.. this video will get you pretty damn close.
THAT BASS.

So inspired to relive that energy, to feel those vibes, I started scouting emerging music with not just five magics but more, it would be a good idea to share with you the following emerging frontmen who are bringing that magic to stages around the world, the bands that you absolutely have to check out.

J A Z // D E L O R E A N
TANKUS THE HENGE
I stood in a festival tent, I was tired, it had been a long two days, the sun was beating down and I really wanted to rest, one more band I told myself.
I wandered in and set up my camera, I leant against the rail as the band readied themselves.
The next half hour is a blur of feeling as though I had fallen down the rabbit hole into wonderland, as though I'd wondered into some circus tent in middle victorian London and while I was weary I couldn't help but dance.
Tankus The Henge time felt like it stopped when you played, you spoke directly to my gypsy heart and I was never quite the same.

 R I C H // M A Y O R
CAPTAIN TRIPS

This is sort of a double whammy. Not only is he frontman of wicked skatepunk band Captain Trips, but Rich is also a solo singer-songwriter and this dude can sing.
I was working in a studio late one night, I'd let a band in and I was just setting up to write a couple of features when this sound started up.
I felt as though I'd instantly been transported back to the skatepunk gigs of my teen years at local haunt The Void.
I told them I'd go to their first gig, I did and I've supported them ever since.

Rich has a release show coming up for his EP so make sure you check his tunes out and pop down to support local, live, emerging music.
T O M  // W E S T
A L M E I D A

If you want to see a guitarist shred faster than I've ever seen anyone shred anything on Earth, then this is the band for you. But for me the magic emanates from the brilliant vocals of Tom West.
I've known this band for years and they're really in their comfort zone, their slaying stages across Europe, their latest record Social Media Circus is a testament to their song writing and I am so excited to share what these boys are doing next with all of you at LBW.

R Y A N // N I E M A N D T
KAMIKAZE TEST PILOTS

Ryan Niemandt of Kamikaze Test Pilots. I don't know even if there's words that would do this justice, you really really have to see this band live. The energy is just insane that is emmited from the stage during their sets. Ryan's African heritage is infused with his love of rock and I'm telling you now, frontmen with vocals and energy like this are rare to find.
Kamikaze Test Pilots are doing some awesome cool things currently and have a new record on the horizon, so probably check these boys out stat.

(Not only that he's a total dude and absolutely lovely, double cool points Ryan! To anyone popping to a show go and chat to the band after, maybe buy a cd!)

That's about all for now folks, but more coming in the next few days.
Look out for features from the interns all week next week and I'll be back the week after!

If you're in Reading on Friday, catch Kamikaze Test Pilots with support from Who Killed Nancy Johnson and The Bittertown Hounds for just £5

In London on Sunday at The Fiddler's Elbow catch Kamikaze Test Pilots.

There's not excuse not to check out the best in emerging live music.
Tune in, rock out and pop back soon.

LBW // THROWBACK THURSDAY

Aloha - Ahoy

Throwback Thursday today features one of my favourite bands from my teenage years and I love that they're still making music! Their album to be released this fall has been much anticipated and after the release of the single, I can't wait to hear the album.

From Bakersfield, California came one band that would turn music fans worlds upside down across the globe with their nu-metal sound and the unique tunes they brought to the scene.

From their first demo album release in 1993, to today in 2016 this band are still touring, writing and releasing music. A testament that not all bands live and die in their fifteen minutes of fame.

T H R O W B A C K // T H U R S D A Y

It's generally agreed amongst the music community that Korn's debut album established the nu metal genre. Limp Bizkit were inspired by the album and the hip–hop elements of the bands sound. It's believed that Slipknot, Machine Head, and Sepultura were also inspired by Korn's debut album. Though I think you'd need to ask the bands themselves that question! Don't believe everything you read on the internet kids!
The album launched the career of record producer Ross Robinson, who later produced albums such as Three Dollar Bill, Yall by Limp Bizkit, Sepultura's Roots and albums for Slipknot.

LBW // AUGUST // SUMMER ANTHEMS

L B W

T W E N T Y S I X T E E N

-

Aloha - Ahoy

It's certainly summer, the days are long, the sky is cloudless, the ocean a constant blue.
This weekend I took a little time out from all the music adventures to spend some time in nature. Balance is important in life, I don't like to take life too seriously but I could feel my energy lacking & figured some time with friends, the ocean & the forest may just be exactly what I needed to refresh my spirit.

There are many incredible bands emerging across the music scenes within the UK and even distant shores currently; those of you who stop by regularly will be familiar with a few names on the list, but we are excited to bring you tunes in the coming days from Bimbo, Alternative Car Park, Witchcharmer, Almeida, Eat Defeat, Cold Summer, The Bittertown Hounds, Captain Trips, Coral Springs, Oxen, Tankus The Henge, Kamikaze Test Pilots, Triple Sundae & many more, so do keep a weather eye on the music horizon.

With the summer drawing to a close on the distant horizon, fall brings a fresh chapter here at LBW too. I'll be back on the road & featuring bands from across the UK as well as Europe and the US too.
Then I'll be spending a little time nearer the capital and a little time in my favourite places in the west, bringing you the best in music and adventures!

It's not just me, Leanna my lovely intern from the south coast is heading out of her current town to a new location where she'll be based bringing you the best in music from across the south's coolest music scenes.

Team LBW are also welcoming our US, European and UK interns this month which we'll shortly be sharing with you as well as our music scene focus features from around the UK & overseas.

If you'd like your band featured or your part of a music scene & you'd like us to share your sounds/events please email KG -  littlebearwolfblog@gmail.com

Aloha, Ahoy

I told you there were so many awesome bands to come tonight!

I'm so incredibly lucky that I get to connect with so many wonderful artists who are really out there bringing tunes to the emerging music market.
I certainly recommend you checking out all of these bands tonight because they are truly among the best of the newest brightest bands on the scene.

Hailing from Canada, these guys are here to bring the metalcore right to you.
When I found this band I couldn't stop listening and I can't wait to bring you more features on these guys. Their Canadian metalcore is something to behold so treasure 'Who You Think I Am'.
The boys have just signed with Poison Bomb records so be sure to check out their social pages & keep up to date with all the awesome things the band are up to.

Cold Summer are a post hardcore / rock band from Leeds, England and these boys are turning the loud up a notch so check out their tune 'A Time Imagination Forgot To Inspire' and lose yourself in the music for a moment.
I've got exciting features and much more planned for these boys right here at LBW and I am so excited to share more with you later this month and over summer!

My favourite Brighton/Southampton, England boys stole my heart a long long time ago and I can't wait to bring you more on this awesome band with a crazy unique set of tunes. 'The Twisted Architect' is one of my favourite tunes of the year and you realy need to get to a live show.. which lucky for you I'll be sharing info for right here at LBW very soon.

Fast & Heavy Punk Rock from Birmingham, England and trust me when I say these boys do not mess around. Probably as close to home as I've got in recent times with awesome new bands, these boys bring back all the memories from the punk and skate gigs I went to as a teen. So check them out and show them your love!

LUNGS

A new band to LBW, fresh tunes for you, awesome vibes for everyone. Introducing feature to come on this wicked band very soon.

Boys boys boys - yes so good! From those early days of listening to rehearsals to your gigs I am so excited for the journey you're on and this is only the start of crazy cool things. Catch the boys at The Hobbit in Southampton and at Wickham Festival in August and do not miss another awesome set from the best band out of Portsmouth, England.

Bringing skatepunk to the masses is totally something I can handle. This band have some rad shows coming up over summer and I'll be brining you the full lowdown tomorrow along with show information.
Pretty much all the love for this band right now, so do check them out stat!

Reading, England has some serious music talent. Everyone told me nah don't bother with Reading there's nothing there. Except it might be one of the best kept secrets in music with so much emerging talent I'm surprised the entire town isn't bursting.
Catch up with The Twin Dracula and all the cool things they're up to right here at LBW because I'm excited to say I'll be meeting these top boys this weekend to bring you the lowdown.

Another of Reading's awesome new bands breathing fresh air to the scene with gigs coming up across the south including awesome gigs at The Hobbit (everyone's favourite venue) and you can catch the boys at The Islington in London too, keep an eye out for this show!
Not to mention being played across regional radio and features on Gigsoup and blogs, the boys are being played on BBC Introducing Berkshire, Brighton radio this weekend and features coming all this weekend and next week too. Don't miss out on the exciting things these boys are up to because they're bringing all the rock to the scene.

Alt Rock four piece from the depths of Hull, England.
A new one to LBW but I'm pretty psyched to be bringing you the best of this bands tunes and sharing them across the scene. Look out for an Introducing feature coming your way right here at LBW.

Okay so a little bit of a hiatus but the band are teasing us with tours and new tunes and they really aren't to be missed. I first met the boys at Butserfest where we talked all things music and life and their live show was mesmerising. I can't wait to share more updates on this cracking band very soon. Keep your eye on that horizon!

some of Idivide & I a very very very long time ago!

Beautiful tunes emanating all the way from LA from Ballerina Black. I first hear this band a couple of years ago and featured them in the early days on LBW but their music journey is still going strong and it's a pleasure to feature their tunes once again. Keep an eye out for a full feature coming soon to LBW.

I think that should be just about enough new tunes to keep you going over the weekend! Pop back for more next week and look out for next month's international anthems playlist on Spotify.

I can't wait to bring you updates from all of these awesome bands, give them a follow, a like and turn up those tunes!

Keep a weather eye on the horizon.

Aloha, Ahoy

With summer well and truly here, (I know you wouldn't necessarily think so with the storms and rain) it's the season of festival, of adventure of being on the road.
With so many emerging bands having surfaced it's an incredibly exciting time to be sharing tunes.

EMPIRE
The adventures are set to carry on well into the winter too this year, living on the road is something I am extremely excited about.
It's kind of cool to appreciate the calm in my house right now, as everything is cleared and refreshed, I can't help but look back on the times that have been shared.

As the cool sea air swirls around my hair, I look to the horizon to the late afternoon sun and feel refreshed with the thought of the adventures to come.

I've got so many bands to bring you this week that I figured the best way to introduce them all was through a playlist which I'll be sharing later tonight, but you can check out a handful of the wonderful tunes below.

I'll be sharing reviews, introducing features and interviews this weekend starting tonight. With a handful of awesome bands from the south coast, from the north, from the west & from the south east there really is something for everyone...

LBW // INTRODUCING

L B W

T W E N T Y S I X T E E N

-

-

Aloha, Ahoy

It's time to introduce to you a couple of awesome bands tonight(I don't feel that the word awesome does these bands justice but hell it's just a word and your going to need to seriously check these tunes out for yourself).

-

The first band I saw at Download & what I liked was the catchy riffs & rockin' beats.

-
-

The band played a wicked set and I'm super excited to share their tunes with you tonight right here on LBW.

-
-

Do check this band out, go like their page & pop to a show.
Reigning Days are quickly becoming a popular choice for music fans across the globe.
When you listen to their tunes, it's not hard to tell why.

Just a month ago the lads dropped their tune 'EMPIRE' & it would appear that people are quite taken by it.

“Oh… My… Word, those guys have the makings of a legendary band”
Alex Baker, Kerrang!

So why not join the masses and check out the tune tonight...

Like what you heard? Keep up to date & never miss a beat:

-

You can go see the guys live at:

08 July // 2000 Trees
31 July // Y Not Festival

Things are hotting up for this band; from Download & Kerrang to headlining for the BBC, 2016 is looking to be truly this bands year.

I absolutely love this song, this for me is what turned my attention to this band & stepped up the tunes...

FRIENDLY FIRE

REIGNING DAYS are: Dan Steer, Jonny Finnis, Joe Sansome

-

If you liked that then you really need to prep yourself for the next band on tonight's Introducing feature...

-

I was stumbling through knee high mud (yeah yeah i'm little) looking for my friends when I heard a noise.
What... What is that?! I better go check and like Alice I stumbled ever closer to the rabbit hole...
All the way down into Download Wonderland...
As I walked into the tent I made my way to the stage.
After two years of hunting gigs, the internet & every radio station from here to Washington state I had found them.
An accidental find that would turn out to be quite the music adventure.
The band who would rival my live show favourites Slipknot in energy, who would get the entire tent jumping and riled.
Please take time to take a moment to revel in a band that I am proud to present on LBW Introducing...

-
-

-

After riling the crowd up something fierce the band chatted to the festival goers. The most down to Earth boys with a penchant for music and for bringing the tunes.

Signed to Fearless Records, something tells me this won't be the last you'll be seeing of this band on LBW.

WAGE WAR are: Briton Bond - Vocals // Cody Quistad - Guitar/ Vocals // Seth Blake - Guitar // Chris Gaylord - Bass // Stephen Kluesener - Drums

-
Go give these guys all the likes on their social pages:

-
Missed them at Download? Fear not, there will be rock.
You can pop to one of their live shows in the UK...
